Mini Session Prep Guide
I'm So excited to document you, your family, and the sweet season of life you're in!
Mini Sessions are so much fun and really the point is for them to be as little stress on you as possible. So my best advice for you is to think of it as a fun activity for you and your family (or your fiance, or your baby bump, or your sister, or WHOEVER) and don’t stress over it. I’m there to capture you having fun and create memories of a beautiful day. This isn’t the type of session to plan for outfit changes or hundreds of combinations of portraits or ideas from Pinterest. This is the type of session where we get a bunch of fun candid shots and have fun!
I love these so much for this reason! Below, I've included a few of my favorite tips to help you get the most out of your session!
ALL THE DEATS
ARRIVE EARLY
Please arrive a little before your session time so you are ready to shoot AT your scheduled time (meaning having your kids in their outfits, hair fixed, face wiped, etc.) Also, some locations may have limited parking. Please leave yourself enough time to park and walk if need be.
Sessions are booked back to back so if you are late, you will only have the remaining time to complete your session. This is so important! Shooting time will be 20 minutes. If you have any questions, please let me know beforehand.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
I will likely be working with the client booked before you when you arrive. Please do not disrupt that session, I will be with you once their session is complete! Be sure to keep those kiddos in the shade on hot days!
COMPLIMENT & COORDINATE
Find a color palette that you love and choose outfits that compliment each other without looking too matchy-matchy. Everyone will have a unique look without clashing in the photo. You can choose to do neutrals with a few pops of color or a softer palette that has different ranges in tone of the same shades.
Most importantly, be sure to wear clothes you feel comfortable in. Your confidence will really shine through in your photos!
ALL LITTLE LADIES WEARING DRESSES OR SKIRTS NEED TO WEAR SHORTS OR BLOOMERS. THIS INCLUDES BABIES OVER 6 MONTHS
Try to Avoid:
Large logos, Large text, Neon colors
Be aware of any tan lines and how those will look in your chosen outfit
PLEASE Do Not Wear Transition Lenses
